Meat alternative Oumph! wins big at International World Food Innovation Awards

Plant-based meat company Oumph! has been awarded the title ‘Best Brand’ at the World Food Innovation Awards.

The judging panel said they had developed “an amazing recipe” and made it look “modern and tasty.”

The company was recently made part of the LiveKindly collective which also includes The Fry Family Food Co., LikeMeat and No Meat. It is based in Sweden with a range of food options available in supermarkets across Europe.

Henrik Åkerman, Global Brand Lead at Oumph! said: “We are super excited to win this prestigious award. Winning Best Brand is a testament to all the hard work from our team, who have put their heart and soul into creating the Oumph! brand. Winning this award gives us all positive energy to develop this amazing brand further as we expand globally.”

FoodBev Media awards schemes have been running for more than 10 years and are now recognized as the most credible and respected awards schemes to influence the international food and beverage industry.

“The fact that a plant-based brand is able to win an award like this is also a very positive signal for the future for the whole plant-based movement. With the help of LIVEKINDLY Collective, Oumph! will continue to grow, and we have the ambition to launch both in Germany, South Africa, and Australia during 2021,” continued Åkerman.

In 2019 Pulled Oumph! won three awards in The World Food Innovation Awards, including for best foodservice/catering product, best plant-based product, and best street food brand.
